In the paper review it talks about the first person shooter for the genre. It says that the gun play is
satisfying and the weapons feel hefty and deadly. The YouTube video also says that the genre is first person shooter. It's descried as a responsive shooter that runs smoothly and plays well. It says that the gun play is strong. Both reviews say similar things that the genre to the other Wolfenstein games. Also it has improved from the others but still has room for improvement. Both the reviews are positive about the genre.
Target Audience
Neither of the reviews talk about the target audience. but we can assume that the target audience is people that have played the previous wolfenstein games because both of them compare the game with other wolfenstein games. A thing that only wolfenstein players know. Both reviews assume that the reader has played the previous games.
Narrative/Storyline
Both of the reviews talk about how the game it is set in a world where the Germans won WW2. They both need to discuss it because the reader/viewer need to know the narrative. Narrative is vitally important to a game and is useful to know before buying a game. So both games go into detail about the narrative.
Characters
The video review talks about the main character, BJ Blaskowits. They talk about how he has a lot more depth compared to previous Wolfenstein games. Also it says that the game explores his ability to love and care for others. This makes the game play more enjoyable. But in this review it only talks about the main character. But in the paper review talks about BJ Blaskowits and his character development in the new game. This is very similar to the video review. However the magazine talks about Fergus. Fergus is BJ Blaskowits' squad leader. It was nice that the magazine spoke about other characters because the main character is not always a persons favourite.
Gameplay
The video review describes the game play as realistic and that they wished that the game play evenly met the presentation. This is very positive but it does give a clear description of the game play to the viewer and they will easily be able to understand why. Because of the clips of game play that they have on the video. In the paper magazine says that it has memorable tutorials and likeable characters. The game play is not spoken about in much detail which would be slightly frustrating for the reader. This is because game play is very important.
Platform
On the video review the game is played on a PlayStation 4, but it does briefly mention that you can play it on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. They only spoke about the 23 newest platforms because these are ones that most gamers play on. However the paper review says that the game is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The paper review has enough space to write down all the platforms.
Personal Recommendation
The video review channel gives each game they review a rating out of 10. So they gave Wolfenstein 7.9 and they said it was well written and had fun game play. This rating system is good because it can easily be compared to other games. For the paper review their recommendation was that it is a good looking game and there is good character development.
